Meet Dr. Neda Kalantar

Affectionately known by her patients as Dr. Neda, Dr. Kalantar has dedicated her career to helping children build lifelong confidence and positivity around oral health. She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Virginia in 1997 and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Dentistry in 2001. She continued with an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at VCU, completing it in 2002. Her passion for working with children led her to specialize in pediatric dentistry, and she completed her residency at Howard University School of Dentistry in 2004, graduating with high distinction.

In 2006, she founded Pediatric Dentistry of Reston, creating a practice centered around compassion, excellence, and fun. 

Dr. Neda has received numerous awards recognizing her academic excellence, leadership, and community service, including the Lillian Reynolds Award for outstanding achievement during her pediatric dental training. She is especially proud of her long-standing work with Operation Smile, through which she has volunteered on over 20 international missions. In 2022, she was honored to participate and teach in Operation Smile’s first “Women in Medicine” program in Malawi, Africa.

Dr. Kalantar is laser-certified, with advanced training in airway growth and development, pediatric sedation, cosmetic dentistry, and special needs care. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Virginia Dental Association. She has been consistently recognized as one of the Top Pediatric Dentists in the DC region by Washingtonian, Northern Virginia Magazine, Virginia Living, and other publications.

Outside of the office, Dr. Neda continues her passion for service through local outreach events, teaching, and speaking at conferences and events.  She lives in the DC area with her husband, two teenage boys, and their dog Zeus, who happily volunteers for daily toothbrushing sessions. Her other passions include yoga, food adventures, global travel, and spending quality time with family and friends.
